The New York State Registered Haflinger Club is hosting a fun day at the Caledonia Fairgounds on Saturday, June 5, from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Members of the club bring their mounts and driving horses for the first event of the year. There will be classes for team and single driving, games for riders and a general get-to-gether for those who haven't seen each other all winter. It's just for fun and great exercise for the Haflingers. The club would love to have anyone attend who enjoys watching the Haflingers having fun. The Fairgrounds will be open and admission is free. We will have some seating, but you might want to bring a folding chair.
The Hilderbrants will have some coffee, soda, hots and hamburgers for sale during the day. We ask that spectators not interfere with the hitching and mounting of horses during the competition. But you are very welcome to visit with the owners afterwards or whenever you see them not preparing for another class. What a great way to rest a bit before you get on with the sidewalk sales, etc.
