Cal-Mum Reunion in the Rockies Last summer the families of Joe Cesarano ('79), Ben Valente ('79), Betty Cesarano ('73), Tim and Anne Clements ('71), and David Ladd ('72) met in southwestern Colorado about 25 miles outside of Durango for a mini Cal-Mum reunion. Thirty people in all spent four days at a remote haven in the Rockies called Vallecito Lake. With no TV, radios, or cell phone service there was a lot of reminiscing about Caledonia. Here are a few photos to see if you can recognize any of the old faces. In photo #1 from left to right are Joe Cesarano, Anne (Cesarano) Clements, Tim Clements, Betty Cesarano, Ben Valente, and David Ladd. In photo #2, Ben and Tim take some of the crew through some white water. Another trip was planned for the summer of 2003 with the hopes of attracting more Cal-Mum alumni. However, the plans are on hold. Recently, the "Missionary Ridge" wild fire engulfed most of the wilderness around Vallecito Lake and most of the cabins and homes. Photo #3 shows a spectacular view of the burning wilderness as the fire approached the Vallecito Lake shoreline. Depending on the amount of damage another trip may be planned for 2004 or 2005.
